beloved book characters
You’ll find a wide array of storybook-inspired sculptures on the museum tour, celebrating cherished authors from the Golden Ages of children’s literature. From Lewis Carroll’s Alice, White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, and Cheshire Cat to Beatrix Potter's famous radish-loving creation, Peter Rabbit – each one capturing the magic and whimsy of the original tales.
Norman Thelwell’s Pony & Rider is also a popular fixture within the collection, alongside with A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, Edward Lear’s iconic Owl and the Pussy-Cat, our Wonderland chess set, and Storybook Jewellery’s Lewis Carroll-inspired collection. There’s truly something for all ages and literary tastes!
A Robert James Workshop Original
If that wasn’t enough! In addition to the collection of classic literary characters, you’ll also find limited edition colored illustrations of The Barefoot King by James Coplestone, which are available for purchase.
Created at the very start of the Robert James Workshop journey, while James explored and expreminented with the magic of alchemy in his garden, The Barefoot King is a true original. Dressed in his nightgown, the restless royal has stepped away from his kingdom to wander barefoot through nature, rediscovering the wild world around him.
We’re also accepting commission proposals to turn these hand-drawn works into large bronze sculptures—a rare chance to own a piece of Robert James Workshop history!
