Curiouser and curiouser…
At the heart of Lewis Carroll’s timeless Wonderland book series, Alice is the voice of reason in an otherwise absurdly nonsensical world. Whether she’s shrinking to the size of a caterpillar, playing flamingo croquet with a hot-headed Queen, or chasing White Rabbits—the curious 7-year-old remains a wonderfully memorable literary creation.
Available in both hot cast bronze and cold cast bronze.
Alice in Wonderland garden sculptures are made from hot cast bronze or cold cast bronze. This handcrafted bronze sculpture is inspired by Lewis Carroll's famous book series and the illustrations of Sir John Tenniel. A spectacular centre piece for any garden and the ideal gift for classic literature fans.
This Alice in Wonderland garden sculptures are available in both hot cast bronze and cold cast bronze. Bronze is known for its remarkable resilience against corrosion and general hardiness as a material, which makes it perfectly suitable for placement outside. With cold cast sculptures, there is an element of care which needs to be taken as they less resilient than their hot cast equivalent.
Perhaps the most valuable characteristic of a hot cast bronze sculpture is its sheer robustness...and there are thousands of years of evidence to prove it! There have been cases of bronze sculptures being dragged from the sea in near-immaculate condition, dated as early as 450BC.
Although the visual clues might be subtle, there is a significant difference between hot cast and cold cast sculptures and and when you buy a hot cast sculpture from the Robert James Workshop, you’re investing in a sense of permanence.
If you're looking for a bronze sculpture that will last generations, a garden centre piece that can be enjoyed throughout your lifetime and those that follow, we'd always recommend choosing the hot cast bronze Alice in Wonderland sculpture. The natural properties of pure molten bronze means that your garden statue is incredibly robust and protected against the elements.
As a hot cast sculpture uses a pure molten bronze, instead of bronze resin composite, the weight difference is considerable. It’s also worth knowing that due to the difference in the casting process, there are some subtle differences in dimensions between the two sculptures. The Alice in Wonderland garden garden sculptures in hot cast bronze will be approximately 3% smaller than its cold cast counterpart.
